I like the color choice, and the implied sense of depth the top of the box creates. Though the kerning, and consequent attention to the type, could use a little more finessing.
Reminds me of TIAA Cref. Their broadcast commercials use these transparent boxes overlaying to make their logo. Seems to be too simplistic of an approach.**http://www.tiaa-cref.org/*
