Description: The cornucopia (from Latin cornu copiae) or horn of plenty is a symbol of abundance and nourishment, commonly a large horn-shaped container overflowing with produce, flowers, nuts, other edibles, or wealth in some form. Cornucopia aims to provide for the overall nourishment of the community by engaging residents in a local food system that is both sustainable and elegant. Built using mostly re-used and re-purposed materials, Cornucopia will function as an urban food forest where residents of all ages can develop a more intimate understanding of where their food comes from. Implementing passive solar design, water recollection systems, and on site composting, Cornucopia is designed in its entirety as a pillar of health and as an allegory for healthy and responsible living in the inner city.
