Description: A non-profit group dedicated to promoting healing, positive cultural identity, and wellness among intergenerational Indigenous women by sharing collective wisdom through a sewing circle and working together to create culturally significant clothing for use in traditional ceremonies, pow wows, community gatherings, and everyday garments to celebrate cultural heritage. Ribbon work is seen culturally in skirts, bags, dresses, and shawls. In the brief it was mentioned that the medicine wheel figured strongly in their identity, so my first design incorporated a medicine wheel made out of ribbon. Two other ideas offered by the women of the group included a fancy shawl and a one line illustration. The fancy shawl was such a hit, plans to illustrate the one line portrait were shelved. Clients are very happy with their new logo, as am I.
