%5E agree. *But, steer clear of sharks as well. First glance, I saw a shark dorsal fin and shadow. After reading the brief I saw the plane immersed in water. *Maybe design sails characteristic of ships built in 1492, this would create a stronger visual connection to Columbus while eliminating the shark imagery.

the concept is good in theory. However, because planes are meant to be in the sky and not in water, this could potentially be perceived as a negative connotation (plane crashing into ocean).
