It's just me or.....http://www.cinepolis.com.mx/Cartelera/Aspx/indexmx.aspx?ciudad%3D
Replyfranknstain, this is a very different graphic treatment of basic design concept I've seen in a variety of forms over the years. doc4 did a nice job of taking the concept of creating a star from strips of film and customizing it for this identity.
ReplyI can safely say I have never seen that logo or website before, frankstain. Several people have mentioned this logo is in some way familiar and have sent logos to me that are this basic concept in various other forms. Though I haven't seen one like this yet. Let me know if there is one out there.
ReplyHardly worth comparing the two. I think you did a great job with this, Doc. What many designers fail to recognize is, concepts have been repeated and re-used for centuries...it's how the designer re-interprets the concept that makes it original. Take the phone for instance. Eventually it became a cordless. And now we have cell phones that think for us (damn crackberry's!). It's just how the world goes round. :-P
ReplySpot on Kev! Nothing in this world is original any more. Its origins will always be inspired by something else which just derives over time. Just another principle of design evolution.**This logo is to the point. No fuss and well executed. Can't ask for more than that. Oh...and it looks great!
ReplyThis is the logo of Multimedios from Mexico: http://multimedios.net/
ReplyJon, What exactly is going on with the Multimedios logo anyway? I'm not even sure I understand what it is that is making up the star.
Replyoh my days!!! are the two being compared???
Replyplease!!! anything that to do with cinepolis and multivideos...%0D*it's a good logotype, very original. reminds me to a logotype, but I don't remember very well...%0D*good job...%0D*%0D*
Reply@ jon : Are you seriously comparing the two? Yes, both are stars, but two completely different concepts and each have a unique style. Hardly comparable.
ReplyLooks fine, but i think that the logo is very wide and the light tipography dont help.%0D*%0D*Looks like http://www.multimedios.com.mx/ from Monterrey.%0D*%0D*Saludos!
